In other 'news', I have written before about my highly-regarded Ferguson TE20 tractor, which is still very much a 'working' tractor despite being older than I am, having been built in 1953. I had trouble starting it recently, resorting to touching wires on bare terminals to turn it over, which at least you can do to keep it going. Anyway, I found a replacement starter switch very easily on eBay and it is now here awaiting installation. A unique feature of the Fergie is that you start it using the gear lever, which activates the starter switch. It really impresses me that parts are still so readily available for such an old piece of machinery. Roll-on Fergie!!

Verandah
Unfortunately not a great photo, but none the less it shows the progress on the verandah roof on the Trainbarn. I really like how it looks, with the 'break' between the main roof and the verandah, and how it all interacts with the portico. There's a short section of verandah roof on the other side of the portico too.

On a sunny morning
The morning after the doors were installed was the best day we've had in a long time, weatherwise! So I couldn't resist another photo of the Trainbarn entrance in glorious morning sunshine!

More doors
Progress has slowed a little at the Trainbarn this week, but nevertheless things are still moving on. Some of the windows have arrived and look fantastic! My friend Lincoln has kindly painted the two gable-end doors, and they look fantastic!! They're the same 'Wilderness' colour as the fascia and windows. Very happy indeed with them!!
Here are some of the windows, awaiting installation.
The main entry doors are removed and protected, awaiting a coat of something and the verandah roof completed, in order to protect them. They were going to be the same (painted) finish as the gable-end doors, but as I said in a previous post the timber is so nice that it seems a shame to paint them! We'll see!
